kerbs for kerdi

I've seen several examples of building up curbs with bricks on the board and in the book but I've done two now where I just made forms flush to the drywall (on the walls) and poured HS concrete curbs. they seem to work fine and in my mind are way easier and allow for easy height design. One $2 bag of concrete and a couple ripped studs...badda-bing...am I missing something (wouldn't be the first time)
