Which way is up is embedded in the picture coding. My phone, regardless of how you hold it, defaults to landscape mode, as if the phone is horizontal. There may be a setting for this, but I haven’t found it. I just hold the phone horizontally when I take pictures if I plan to post them here.

Unhappy

The bad news is.... I have hundreds of tile work pics that I’ve done over the last two years that I want to share...looks like I need to buy a laptop and reimagine them all...

I think you can modify the pictures in your phone by rotating them..... Meaning if a picture appear sideways , you can replace it with one modified which will load in normal position.

Or you can ask mods to rotate them

You can rotate them in the phone. Mine will ask clockwise or counterclockwise.

I'm one of the mods, and the one that probably does the most with fixing pics on the forum. If I see rotated pics I'll take care of them. Most of what I search for are images hotlinked from off-site photo sites. Those I upload directly to the forum. Nothing worse than researching a thread and having pics turn up missing because the hosting site changed. Photobucket used to be a popular storage location that you could hotlink from. When they disabled that, any images linked to them became instantly inaccessible.

I would like to double up on what Joe said about linking to photos on other sites. We much prefer to have everything loaded directly to our site for the reasons Joe stated. We have never deleted anything decent from this forum. Threads all the way back to Y2K are stored in our database and accessible.
