New website
Ok - I have been working on this myself & I ain't the smartest when it comes to computers but I think it is pretty good for a flunky tile guy. It'd be nice to get ya'lls input so please pick it apart & give me honest feedback.
I did "borrow" from a couple of sites - I tried hard not to copy word for word & even contacted those of you whose site I used as an example to make sure I didn't tick anybody off - most of you gave the thumbs up - didn't hear back from everyone though - not a problem to change things that are borrowed if it bothers original persons though so speak up if ya need to -
http://www.johntrentconstruction.com...=0&si5=6&si6=0
told ya'll I wasn't a computer guy - I don't know how to make that a link - you'll have to copy & paste unless someone can help me out.

maybe this'll work.
Nice site, like the "Hall of Shame" I think I did see that on someone else site, great concept.
Loved this-
"Believing that customers desire a "nightmare-free" installation, JTC was founded.
Striving to provide the best practices in installation while offering excellence in customer service is our goal. Our installations follow Tile Council of America guidelines as well as all manufacturer specifications. While there is no "Tile Police" there are industry standards. We follow those standards."
Well done.

Thanks Lou - it ain't too bad - I think all together its costing me less than a couple hundred a year & with the templates they have it isn't too hard to do it yourself. Hardest part is figuring out what you wanna say & gathering pictures - renaming & resizing them....

Thanks Gueuze - I have had mixed reactions to the hall of shame. I have a customer who was a newspaper editor who told me it was kind of a negative advertising he thought - like I was tearin down someone elses work instead of promoting mine but others have said they liked it cause it gave them the "Oooo - I don't want that to happen to me" feeling
guess the jury is still out on that one.

Looks good, the only comment I have is the actual file size of the pictures is kind of large and makes it load kinda slow. You don't need high dpi files for the internet. Many people say that 72dpi is enough for computer screens but the graphic designer wife says it is better to keep them around 100dpi if possible.

Brian - thanks for the input - not exactly sure how to size them that way...on my program it gives me the option of sizing them "Large web" Small web - Large email - small email etc - think I used large web - maybe a 700 by 300 or so....that sound right?
Now gotta figure out how to get it onto my posts - thought I had seen it before but not so obvious now that I am looking for it.

Don't know about your program but that program everyone on here uses to size their photos to put on the forum (irfanview I think) would work great for sizing the photos for your site.
Not a huge deal but quick loading pages are always nicer.

Hi John, great job on your website. Easy to navigate.... nice pictures (Bryan's idea to make loading on dialup faster is a good idea)....Hall of Shame is good....maybe change the font to Arial throughout as it is mixed right now (and Arial has been tested as easy on the eye for websites).
Now, if you could just convince some of the rest of these guys to get a site up and running...

Hey, it might read better if you changed the word desire to deserve.
