Clyde, We always used to say, "Funny how such a little girl can turned a 'big strong tough guy' into a babbling idiot so quickly!"
I could swear it was just last week that mine were 8, 6 and 2! (2 girls and a boy) Now they are 28, 26 and 22 (almost 23)!! And the youngest just put an offer in on his 1st house today!
Yep, they grow up fast!!!

I know what you mean! And then, maybe, the grandkids start coming along and they can wrap you around their little finger so fast it makes your head spin. Yesterday I was helping the kids move their things our of our storage unit and our house. Little Maddie (almost 6 months) was sitting on her mom's lap just doing her best to catch my eye. I finally started talking to her and boy did she light up. Old Papa is a goner . . . again!

Don't fight it Clyde

Do fight it - run with it.

Granpa's can do no wrong - trips for ice cream, 2 dozen cookie visits, etc..

Our Papa is all about the adventures and the treats. We like to drag Papa out on our family adventures (day trips, walks, shopping etc) and he gets away with murder.

I'm loving it! Besides, with grandkids you can spoil them rotten and then send them back home.

Congrats on building your relationships, John. Marcus (2) still takes a bottle to bed but we're slowly weening him from that. Hannah (4) just came into my office with her new lace-up shoes (pink Converse All-Stars) and said with great earnest, "I need to practice with you Daddy."
My wife won't be up for another hour. Good times.
