no didnt mud them i bumped them out with 1/2" cbu to give the pattern the affect the h/o wanted. I'll get some close ups tomorrow

Nice Work Scott ! That's exactly how I do Kerdi too, vertically, and gray thin-set. Are those slate tile mosaics ?

thanks. yep slate mosaics and slate 12x12's also. this bathroom was so far out of square. if you were to look at the floor eye level it looked like a smile. ceiling was the same way

I like to grout them with a sponge or my hands, then i let them set awhile then use a tampico brush with a little water to bring the stones out,i usually seal them first also.

Hi Brian,
We have used a lot of Wedi board over the last 6-7 years, but I have never seen the shower base. Did you install it? What are your thoughts about using it as a substiute for the conventional pan liner/curb/mud floor system?
I've always been a little iffy on the connection of the walls to the base, being nothing more than the adhesive along the bottom of the panel.
