Trowel size chart?

Is there such thing as a trowel size chart? I always have a hard time figuring out what trowel size and whether V, U or square to use.

Example is I am getting ready to install 3x6" subway tile and there is nothing listed for what trowel to use. Which trowel should I go with?

NOTE: I am installing 3x6 subway tile with uncoupling mortar on kerdi membrane in shower stall

Hi John,

I don't know about the backs of your tiles, but you want a trowel, v-notch or u-shape, that will give you good coverage on the backs of the tiles as well as on the Kerdi. If I had to guess I'd say 1/4 inch.

Same here. Usually 1/4 inch notch on flat 3x6 tiles.
