Sealing this mosaic?

Hello all! I have searched the forum for this, bit am unable to find a definitive answer on what to do with the mosaic here. I used Mapei UltraColor plus FA to white grout in this shower. Manufacturer says this has sealer “built in”.
First question i would ask: is this really enough sealer for shower joints?
Second question: does this Mosaic need any sort of extra sealant on the tile itself?

If the manufacturer doesn't think your grout needs a sealer, I would suggest you don't need a sealer. But, then, I don't recommend use of sealers in shower installations at all as a rule.

As for the tile, note that there is a difference between sealers and sealants. Your tile installation would require the industry recommended flexible sealants at all changes of plane. Whether or not the tile itself would benefit at all from use of a penetrating sealer would depend upon the composition of the tile, which we don't yet know.

My opinion; worth price charged.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m a bit confused by your statement regarding not using grout sealer in a shower. I was under the impression all grout needed sealing, but especially the wet areas, is this misguided? The misaic is made of marble. Appreciate any advice, as always

You have a somewhat common misconception of grout. It's not true that all grout needs sealing. In fact, no grout *needs* sealing, but sometimes benefits from sealing.

The job of sealer is to clog the relatively open pores of the grout so as to slow down a potential staining liquid that's been spilled from being quickly absorbed into the pores where it would be difficult or impossible to clean. The sealer gives you a few minutes to clean up the spill before it soaks in too much or dries and becomes permanent.

Because folks don't typically bring stainable liquids into the shower with them, the need for sealer is kind of pointless. In addition, sealing natural stone tiles in showers can be a detrimental thing. You see, sealer will not stop the shower spray moisture from getting past the layer of sealer...but it will slow down the rate of evaporation (even the "breathable" stuff") once the moisture gets in. This can lead to "wet looking spots" on the floor (and partially up the walls) of showers with light-colored porous stone tiles.

Whatever you do Brian, seal, no seal, I would like to compliment the nice clean installation.
