How do you guy come up with all the time to get your pictures up on the forum. Here it is 10:00 PM I have just got down with desk work and should be heading off to bed.
I did get a couple pictures ready to upload.
The painting is the last watercolor that I completed and framed.
Gave it to my Mom for Xmas.
The sunflower showes of my green thumb. Look close at those knees.

Bullnosing Slate

Careful guys, as you know slate is soft and it may spoil ya

Pick your pieces for bullnosing.Tight grained are of course best.I didnt want to state the obvious but,then again

I always figure what i need in L/F and pick the best tightest pieces i can find and then sort for color.I was very particular on the pieces that were to be water jetted and then Bullnosed.Screwing up a water jetted Deco was not something i would have cared for as you can imagine

2x2 slate or tumbled Marble etc can be bullnosed for your shower floor curb wraps also if you are doing many of these.It Looks great

Isn't that some kind of sunflower. Had to use the electric chain saw to cut it down at the end of the season. Enough seeds to feed ALL the little critters in the neighborhood.

Now for the sunflower...... did you have a permit to grow that thing so close to the fence?

She sure is wearing that yellow proud! Mmmm, yellow flowers, fresh cut grass, light breezes, the way your face warms when you face the sun... Today's weather prediction... 1-2" of SNOW. Must be gettin cabin fever.

Here are a couple of non-tiling pichers I've taken. I love the passion vine flower, even though they are a common weed in South Carolina. The second picher is a closeup of water dripping from a moss covered ledge.

Interesting flowers! Jack did it take ya till 1AM to recall the name?

I can't quite tell by the picture if that's one that I see in the stores here in MI or not and I don't know the name. Cacti are interesting... I like the needles.

Oooh, Clyde that purple is beautiful. Did you shoot that at night to get the dark background? I tried algae once, but it didn't turn out.

Both were taken with an Olympus OM-2, macro lens (50 mm, I think) and the Olympus twin flash. It was a really nice setup, but alas, I had to leave it behind when I retired. I really like trying to get shots of moss, lichens, algae, etc. Need to spend more time on that some day when I run out of projects to do around the house.

The photo i posted of the epiphylum or orchid cactus is not a common
cactus in the US. i took a branch from a cactus my mother has growing.
you can literally cut a branch and wait 2-4 weeks before you put it in the
dirt and it will grow with a regular watering. There is an "Epi" society in san
diego. This flower is huge, im 6'2" tall and have large hands, if i put my hand
next to this flower it is larger. The photo was taken last year on my crumby
digi camera but ive noticed some new buds growing fast in the last couple
days. I also ran across a customer i did work for who had a white flower
epi and they gave me a branch. its in its infancy but in about a year or
so i will get nice big white flowers. Ill post a better photo of the new set
of flowers with my new camera. Great thread shutterbug i hope everyone
continues to join in this is cool.

Jack, you probably already know, but I figure I'd put a couple details here for anyone else interested. I looked up a couple pages about your epiphyllum or orchid cactus until I found one with some size detail. Woof, those are big. Found in the jungle from Mexico to northern South America, their flowers are 5"-8" across on average but can be as big as 15". And they hang from the trees and can reach a length of up to 200! That's a pretty hardy flower! Their colors vary depending on the environmental conditions.
