He's probably in a greenhouse because that part of BC has a fairly short growing season and lacks the heat and humidity that some summer crops like. We can barely grow tomatoes in Minnesota and we have hot summers.

I've heard some say not to plant cucumber with tomato, but that's because they share some pests, not because the tomato does anything to the cucumber plant. Many people grow them together just fine.

If my raspberries had your problem, I would guess it was from our early spring followed by a late freeze damaging the growing tips of the new canes. But you say you just planted these, so I'm not sure. Could they have been bought with some damage? Which reminds me that I'd better go pick raspberries before it gets any hotter.

we're still having night time lows of around 8 Celsuis. Some of my tomatoes are outside, but the cucumbers definitely like the greenhouse better. We're still about 3 weeks away from ripe raspberries.

The raspberries I planted came from my mom's garden, so no damage. Also all the weeds coming up share the leaf curl problem. I suspect acidic soil, but since raspberries like it acidic it should not be such a severe problem.

Wendy, I have been soaking the garden every morning but perhaps it is time for evening watering also. Its hot as balls and hasn't rained in a week. We may get storms today but they are very hit and miss. Thanks for the idea.

I love Epiphyhllum, Roberto! That one is amazing. Here's my similar one, although not as vivid of red I think.

I loved everyone's pictures, I'm kind of a plant nut myself. My front porch: Brugmansia, Datura, Sedum, tree Peony, Hosta, witch hazel.

One of my potted Brugmansia:

I have about 25 kinds of Peonies:
