Scott (sgrandjean) - made an unexpected trip to the emergency department by ambulance after complaining of chest pain, shortness of breath and dizziness while sparring with a fellow cadet during a defensive tactics session at the police academy. ECGs, chest x-ray and cardiac enzymes all came back normal. Spent he night in the clinical decision unit for observation. Blood pressure when EMS arrived was 175/115. Now, it is hovering around 144/98. Will be starting blood pressure medicine and having a stress test this week. I would appreciate some spare good thoughts and prayers. Thanks! 16 June 2012.
Gunnar - Marge and Dave's (Wiley) 8-month-old Great Nephew has been diagnosed with GERD, intestinal malformation and reactive airway disease. (3 Jan 2011) He is scheduled for surgery this week and they've been advised there is a high mortality rate in young patients with his advanced symptoms. Update 7 Jan 2011 - Gunner survived the surgery, which the doctors rated at 70% successful. Tests are being run and the doctors will offer a prognosis once those are completed.
Everyone is in a bit of shock and the strength of your prayers will be appreciated beyond words. Especially for Gunnar's Mom and Dad. UPDATE 6/12/11 - Gunnar has had many ups and downs since last post. Prognosis goes up and down. He celebrated his first birthday in April. Update 27 Oct 2011 - Gunnar has taken a major turn for the worse following a flu shot.
Update 19 June 2012 - Gunnar continues to fight the effects of the disease but has shown amazing resilience and adapts much better than previously.
Fred S. - Marge's friend. (23 Dec 2010) A few days ago his wife noticed a droop to the side of his face. Immediate medical attention revealed a brain tumor and was followed by surgery. Not all of it could be removed and they are waiting for test results. Update 8 Jan 2011 The tumor is malignant. There are no standard treatment options available and he has been given up to a year to live. A medical trial is maybe available and the family is weighing the pros and cons of life extension versus quality of life. UPDATE 6/12/11 - Fred is defying the odds and is feeling good and even active...played a few holes of golf with his wife. He is working on memory books and tapes for his grandkids. His attitude is amazing.
Update 19 June 2012 - Fred S continues to participate in the drug study and of the eight people in the study, he is one of seven that have not only lived almost a year past the prognosis, but is traveling, playing golf and working part time. Walking miracles!
"Mom" - Tool Guy - Kg asks for prayers. She suffered some brain injury a few years ago when another driver ran a stop light and broadsided her car. She continues to try and try, but her brain just doesn't serve her like it used to. I pray that she may be restored to her pre-accident health. And I pray for her to lean on the Lord's strength, now and always. 14 June 2012.
Sarah - Mark Tarkus' wife has a brain tumor. They will be operating in a few weeks. 9 June 2012.
Tracy (Bellsfloors) - Tracy just found out that he has Sigmoid colon cancer. He is scheduled for surgery. It is a very difficult time for Tracy. Update 12 Oct 2011 - Tracy will be having open surgery on 13 Oct 2011. Update 16 Oct 2011 - Tracy came through surgery with flying colors. He will soon graduate to solid foods. Update 22 Oct 2011 - Tracy was discharged on 21 Oct. He is glad to be home. He will be returning to the clinic on the 26th for staple removal and follow up. Update 4 May 2012 Tracy reports that he is slowly making progress.
Update 3 June 2012 Tracy says he has finished chemo and IV anitibiotics and is working a limited schedule More details are found in his thread

Terry - She is related to the Forum thru many folks that have been a part here. She is 36 years old and suffered a massive stroke last night. She is a mom to two small boys. Condition is critical. Doctors have said she may not make it. Next couple days critical. 13 May 2012.
Cherish - MudMaker's 33-year-old daughter-in-law has been sick since January and was recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis. She is in lots of pain and her stomach function is at 10%. So far they have not been able to determine the cause. 23 Nov 2011. Update 12 Dec 2011 After nine days in the hospital Cherish was released with a less than positive outlook. She currently is getting some relief from a Chiropractor/Nutritionist. Continue to keep her in your prayers and thoughts. Update 17 Jan 2012 - Cherish (DIL) is back in the Hospital... Colon is still not working properly.. She has been on a special diet but not helping so far. Had blood work done and last week started taking supplements to get healthy... Hope this will be helping her.
Update 13 May 2012 - Cherish is doing better and has not has a hospital visit since she has been on the new diet. She still has her bad days, but no hospital recently. She had another diagnosis by different Hospital in our area and they think she may have scar tissue on her colon that may be causing her problems.. She could be going in for exploratory surgery in the near future.
Laura - our Davem's most better half, is in need of our prayers. She came down a week ago with some symptoms that have escalated into very serious pneumonia requiring hospitalization. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. 5 May 2012
Update 13 May 2012 - Laura is on her way to recovery! After serious surgery to her lung and a stay in ICU, she has turned the positive corner. She's on her way home and will need some more time to recover. What a turnaround from a very scary situation. Davem and family are very grateful to the support here.
Copper - Jerry (JTG) and Patti's daughter is going in for surgery on her back Monday. Please hold her and husband James in your prayers.
Copper has worked with young children for a number of years and it has taken its toll, all the bending and picking up. Lot's of anxiety at her house about what this will mean and hold forth going down the road for them. "Do I get my job back, how will we make it on only one income for a couple months" etc. 28 Jan 2012
Update 1 Feb 2012 - Copper is home. All went well. She said that the pain that was shooting down her leg from the pinched nerve is gone already. Instant relief! 2 weeks very lite duty then 4 weeks or so of rehab and should be good to go for Spring.

Jeremy - Dan's (Tilehelperdan) close friend is suffering from PTSD. He has threatened suicide and become short tempered and verbally abusive towards his wife. He has withdrawn from Dan and is generally pulling away from his support structure. We are working on getting him to agree to seeing a doctor, but he is of course worried about being seen as weak. Obviously this has been trying for us, and his wife and I would appreciate your prayers. 24 Jan 2012
35Anderson - He has been going though a hard time with symptoms of peripheral neuropathy. So far no doctors can figure out what's wrong with him. It has been a struggle and any positive prayers would greatly appreciated. (2 Sep 2011)

Rosemary - John Koessler's (doitright) Mother has spent considerable time in the hospital. Update 17 July 2011 Mom's arrhythmia has been corrected back to a normal rhythm. She has an ongoing stomach issue, as well as short term memory, which has been getting progressively worse. John asks that you please include his Mother, his Father Richard and their three sons John, Tom and James in your thoughts and prayers.

Sue - Louis' (lou432) Mom. After 2-3 years of declining health a mass was found on her brain. It was drained and she was hospitalized, but showing little improvement. Update 12 Feb: She is doing much better. She is home & taking care of heres a week stops by at her home & she walks 1/4-1/2 mile with sis each day. Update 14 June 2011 Sue is not doing well. She is in the hospital for the third time in a month. Keep all the family in your thoughts and prayers.
Diane - Steve's (Lazarus) wife. (9 Dec 2010) Diane had cancer surgery and chemo a year ago. Recently, a tumor was found on her bladder and was removed. Update 20 Dec 2010 - Diane is home and recuperating. The recommendation is for radiation in a few weeks. Update 14 June 2011 - After two very rough chemo treatments after the second surgery and a recent scan it looks like they got everything.
Don and Jan Biasella - Customers of Greg (HS345). Don is suffering from complications of treatment for Hodgkin's. He has radiation damage and has been battling infection. Depending on how his current course of treatment goes, it could become life threatening. Update from Don on April 7: I'm doing pretty well. I have an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic this Thursday and one next week at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. I feel Jesus is leading me to Pittsburgh and would appreciate a continuance of your prayers. Update 14 June 2011 - Don is still suffering and needs our prayers and positive thoughts.
CJ - Stephen's (pooky) wife has been diagnosed with Barretts Syndrome and Systematic Scleroderma. (Aug 17, 2010) Update 10 Dec 2010 - CJ spent a week at the Mayo Clinic in AZ. Although her blood work is positive for the disease she shows no physical symptoms. Although at risk, she should be able to live a normal life. Update 13 June 2011 - CJ continues to do well and does not have any symptoms. She and Stephen are doing everything they can to maximize her odds of remaining basically normal. Thanks for all the good energy and kind thoughts.
Hugh Turner - Marge and Dave's (Wiley) 85-year-old neighbor in Mesa, AZ. He has been missing since Christmas Eve 2010. See Marge's thread for additional information.
