Trask still doesn't have power, but he's got a good generator. He just went to get more dvd's. It looks like an atom bomb went off out by his place. Stands of timber completely flattened. We lost almost every tree on our place.

Thanks, Dave. I got a call from Trask earlier and he thought he was gonna be able to get on here for a short visit. Think he was at the shop? Guess it didn't work.
He said it's all been pretty exciting out there. Didn't sound like the kinda exciting he wanted to do again, though.

Trask sounds like he is dealing with the same stuff we here have to after a Hurricane.
I feel for him.

Brian,
'Cept his trees are heavier, straighter, taller and there's more of 'em. Well, maybe not more of them after this past storm???

No power outages here in Seattle, the wind isn't even blowing.
During the big blow last week we didn't lose power then either. All the little white pretty xmas trees in the yard blew over but I have them ready for whatever MN wants to throw at them now.
It is going to be fun to hear Trasks stories.
In Centralia where the freeway was closed there was a story in the paper today about farmers and loss of livestock. One family lost over 100 dairy cows. A friend told me that he say pictures on the news of dead cows 15 feet up in trees where high water floated and left them.

> The California coastline has been battered by monster 15-feet waves this week that has sent surfers scrambling to beaches.
Ha! Up this way we call that a glassy day.
Here's what we call storm waves. Those homes are 100 feet or more above sealevel. Occasionally windows get knocked out.

I just heard from Trask and he and his family are all well. He's definitely had an "experience" though. He'll post when he has a chance. He and his crews are working today.

Never doubted it for a moment, but it's good to know for certain. Thanks for the update, Shaughnn.

73F at 10:AM. We're expecting a cold front in a couple days. Only gonna be in the sixties.
We cruised on through Grand Forks last summer when we returned from Canada. Seemed pleasant enough weather wise.

John, it was warm up here yesterday, not sure how warm but my arm pits were wet. 42 this morning after the cool front and light rain. About right for me.

Hey I'm back It has been an adventure. We had winds at the local marina clocked at 127mph and a friend of mine had a reading of 139mph on his boat. Across the Columbia river in Illwaco Wa. (a few miles away)they had an official recording of 139mph .
My new wind meter died at 111mph.
I stayed up all night watching the storm rip my trees apart and throw them around my property and one into the house. I took lots of video and photos of the surrounding areas. I'll see if I can't post some.
We just got power back yesterday (6days ) and I won't have internet for at least a week..I can get it through my office so I'll be in and out as i can.
First pic was a complete forest just above my house..Next pic was A nice big Pine tree in my yard..This one will be fun try and buck up.
