- We cut a piece of kerdi board the size of the BS to work over as a flat surface, and use as a transfer medium. The BS is 48 inches wide by 32 inches tall
- We laid a piece of kerdi fabric over the kerdi board, drew, then laid out the tiles That took 2 people 10.5 hours.
- We thinsetted the tiles to the kerdi fabric (still setting over the kerdi board)
- We slid the kerdi board out from under the BS
- With the BS face up on the table we set the Kboard over the BS
- We taped the top edge of the BS to the top edge of the Kboard.
- We flipped the BS and the Kboard over as one piece so the back side of the BS was facing up.
- We thinsetted the wall behind the stove, then burned in the backside of the BS with thinset.
- We lifted the BS along with the Kboard placing the BS into position.
You can see in the picture we added blocking / legs to the kerdi board to be assured it wouldn't fall down behind the stove.
