Mid 90's and humid today. Not a fun time to be outside. AC feels so good.

Don't know if it made it but they said the heat index was supposed to be 107 today - I did just come by a sign that showed 95 at 7pm. I know it was HOT here today.

Southwestern Colorado this afternoon (well, yesterday, I suppose by now), somewhere inna forties I'd guess and very humid. The high humidity the result of much rain and snow. The rain was winnin'.

All this at just below eleven thousand feet at a place called Molas Pass. Thought I'd made the drive from Durango to Montrose years ago, but it's a pretty unforgettable bit of road and I woulda remembered it had I been there. Been to Durango before. Been to Montrose before. But never drove from one to the other. Worth the trip. Bring good brakes.

Then when I got up on Hwy 70 headin' east to Denver the rain got really serious. Had lots of trouble seein' where was the road, and this is onna interstate highway. Serious rain, that. Gave up at Glenwood Springs. Maybe it'll be easier inna daylight.

RAIN!

And one hell of thunderstorm to go with it. 4th of July fireworks maybe rained out tonight. I don't care, we need the rain.

Sorry to hear about the rain. We had mid 80's with low humidity today in Winston-Salem.

This weekend is our town's Venetian Festival - complete with a fireworks display on Saturday night that usually exceeds the Independence Day display.

The forecast here for Saturday? Rainy and a high temperature of 66 degrees!

We've been above 110 for days...more days coming.

Where's the "This Sucks" smiley?

It's 102 in our backyard and raining. Oh yeah, dry drops.

This is what we get for having a June with hardly any 100 degree days.

The St. Joseph forecast has been revised for tomorrow. It's still rainy, but now the high is only 63 degrees.

CX I'm truly saddened that you travelled right past my home town and didn't even look me up!! Coulda shared a lovely cold one (or two). Any who, Red Mountain Pass is the most beautiful of passes, however, ya ain't seen nuthin yet if you haven't tried it in the middle of winter when the snow is flyin' and cars are crashin' and avalanches are slidin'!!! That and Wolf Creek Pass are the main two reasons that Durango is soooo expensive! Weather stopped being rainy about the 4th of July or so, and it has been sunny and hot without a cloud since then, till today that is, now it is threatening to do something meteorologically significant... maybe. Muggy anyway, think the humidity is up to 18% maybe! TD

Well, Tracy, if I'd planned the trip some, and actually figgered out who was along the way, I woulda stopped to see some of you good folks. As it was, we finished our work early and I wanted to get up to the Boundry Waters Canoe Area well before the crazies got there for Memorial Day. So off I went, stopping to fish a little in the San Juan river near Farmington, NM, then just headed north.

Well, didn't notice no cars crashin' nor avalanches avalanchin', but the snow was definitely flyin on part of the drive.

But I never made it to Minnesota, anyway, so coulda stopped if I'da only knowed, eh?
