Random Rock & Mortar Shed Floor

Howdy,

Soooo, I just built a post-n-beam pole-barn at my Ranch in Nevada, and it is all dried-in now, the door works, but all i have is a dirt floor. I have layed out 2x6 redwood cubes that are 4feet by 4 feet square, and 6 inches deep. Now for my wacky plan.... I have a bunch of golfball and baseball sized rocks on the ranch, and I was thinking i will throw a bunch in each 4'x4' form, and then pour in type S mortar and see if i can make baby floor squares for my work-shop. I have machine that mixes up 5 gallon pails of mortar, and just wonder if anyone has a better idea how i can make my dirt floor about 6 inches taller and a little bit less like sandy dirt.

Thanks in advance for your ideas,
The Bush Master of Nevada

Yeah, form and pour concrete.

six inches is way to thick for mortar mix anyway, plus it will take you forEVER

You could always form and pour it in seperate smaller pours of a couple yards each with expansion joints for regular concrete too.
