How to make a back yard snow maker
I have a link here to a thread on Contractor Talk.
http://www.contractortalk.com/f11/ba...ild-one-69404/
You should see the size of the Ice palace the dude with an excavator made for his kids.
Any one rig up a mini snow maker with any success?

We usually get more snow than I care to deal with but I have thought about building a snow gun for the heck of it. Here's a good site and they have free plans...

Great link
Thanks for the link.
It is going to be hard to focus on work today. I'm looking at my compressor in a whole new way!

I have 18" of snow in my back yard right now - literally. Don't need anything that makes more.
Pretty cool, though.

Yeah, Brian. But we can shovel snow out of our driveways.
Every tried to shovel out a hurricane?

Only in Canada can you find a John Deere zamboni.
I gotta get me one of them!

DAMN Dave! - that is a serious rink -nice - tell your zamboni driver to go the long way though - much easier

Well done Dave
Nice rink Dave. Love that it's a double yard rink!
Did you set those mini red and blue tiles for the lines with glass Mosaic or porcelean? What type of thin set do you use under ice?
My neighbor up the street has the same court size just without the ice factor. Your boys must be tearing it up with all the extra ice time.

LOL John....I could only wish it was mine. Its a guy up in Red Deer that has it. I drool when looking at it though. Calgary has those stupid "chinooks" periodically through the winter and melts any good home made rinks.

My step dad made one in Kamloops once
We had one made with just freezing 2"x4"'s to the grass and then flooding it.
No side boards, no zambonni.
Lots of fun.
