2 other possible tile projects

killing time while wait to pick up my bullnose granite on Tuesday.

Our entryway could use some work. What do you recommend for a non slippery 12 x 12 tile? I would prefer a natural stone, slate...something like that.

I had a friend who put polished marble in her entryway. It was beautiful - she really enjoyed looking at it as she recovered from the broken arm she got the first time she came in the house on a rainy night.

possible project #2 - I will probably have enough granite left over from the kitchen - how about a granite topped dining table?
What would be required to prepare, say, a table from an unfinished furniture store? I can cut down the legs to take into account the height that tiles and substrates would add.

What do you think?

Pretty grand plans for someone who hasn't even laid the kitchen counters yet, huh ?

Ouch

Kathe you have a million choices well not quit a million.
Shop around, look for a quality. You might think about a pattern other than straight lay. Add some character.

Now the table HMMM. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, but work involved in getting everything stable and secure from any flex will be tough. But hey it's a possibility and if you pull it off you have a jewel.
