I read he had suffered from some lung disorder for awhile. Pneumonia would be a really bad thing. Sorry for his passing. He was quite an entertainer.

What is sarcoidosis?

Sarcoidosis is a disease that causes small areas of inflammation of the body’s tissues. This swelling produces small lumps called granulomas that can be either inside the body or on the outside as sores on the face or shins. Scar tissue forms while the lumps are expanding into groups.1 Sarcoidosis can attack any organ and always affects more than one of the body’s systems. However, more than 90 percent of patients with sarcoidosis will have lung involvement.2 When scarring occurs in the lungs, the lungs’ tiny air sacs (alveoli) are replaced by fibrotic tissue that is stiff, thicker than the normal lung tissue, and cannot absorb oxygen.3 Between 20 percent and 30 percent of people with pulmonary sarcoidosis end up with permanent lung damage.4 Pulmonary sarcoidosis can cause loss of lung volume, which is the amount of air the lungs can hold, and it can cause abnormal lung stiffness.

Another famous person died.

Isaac Hayes

On August 10, 2008, Hayes' wife found him on the floor near a treadmill inside his home located just east of Memphis, Tennessee. A Shelby County, Tennessee sheriff's deputy responded to Hayes' home. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, where he was pronounced dead at 2:08pm, at the age of 65. The cause of death was not immediately known

I guess we need to keep an eye on Samuel Jackson....

Quote:
Hayes was about to begin work on a new album for Stax, the soul record label he helped build to legendary status. And he had recently finished work on a movie called "Soul Men" in which he played himself, starring Samuel Jackson and Bernie Mac, who died on Saturday.
Only 65, and on a tread mill for cryin' out loud. That ain't fair!
