No it does not matter Don but, to be clear, its purpose is not to fill voids as with BB's. Its simply used to bond the fleece to the plywood subfloor

No- it is used to bond the ditra to the substrate. I'm usually seting it on wood, so I use a super premium modified thinset like Laticrete 254 platinum.

On concrete you can go with unmodified, but from what I hear avoiding Customblend is a good idea.

Chad, I would consider that ("simply used to bond the fleece to the plywood subfloor ") to be pretty damn important, and wouldn't skimp on materials.

Oh believe me Gueuze, I know all about not skimping on materials! I mean shoot, I use the most expensive mastic Menard's has to offer for alla my installs. Gets purty spendy when doin a 1/2" notch for LFT!! Pahahahaa!!

I was at HD yesterday picking up some Ditra and thin set to go ding out a last minute hotel bathroom. They were fresh out of acrylpro on Saturday morning....huh...must be really good stuff

I didn't realize you were suppose to use a uber modified thinset under kerdi over ply. I've always used laticrete 252 or versabond and felt ok about it.
