It happens to us all. The 5 bathroom house we were supposed to start in January still isn't ready. Although we are supposed to pick up tile on thursday for a job set for last march.

Ya I hear ya Paul, got a few of those myself, oh we will call you when we are ready............3 months later....um.....

My situation is almost worse, the flooring shop I did 90% of my work for is in the process of changing to hourly installers only, I've been left out in the cold

Hope you get some work Serge. IMO working for flooring stores is a road to nowhere.
Glad the tile stores around here just have list of recommended installers and don't do the installs themselves or sub them out.

Except for HD and Lowes.

Serge,
I just sent a prospect to Tom Hulse on Monday. I think I sent one to Matt Black last week. And I've got an appointment this Friday to review if I can fit their projects into my schedule. I suspect I won't be able to. I'll keep you in mind.
Please send me your contact information so that I can have it at hand?
Cheers!,

Serge,
PM me with any info on:
  • Past work photos (unless your facebook page has all of them)
  • What you are really proficient at - (i.e. floors, big jobs, small jobs, bathrooms, waterproofing certif or training, exteriors, other remodeling, etc.)
  • $ size you prefer to work on
  • Territory you prefer to cover/limitations
  • and lastly, if you can give a description of your "perfect customer/project" that would really help to know what to recommend you for.

Just saying "I'll do anything" wouldn't be much help. If I know what you can do well, what you'd like to do, and where you'd like to work, it makes it easier for me to recommend.

Now that I think of it, you can either post those specifics here, or you can PM us in the Puget Sound area. If you've got time on your hands, then you have time to write something like this up to help us help you.

Best regards

Shaughnn -

Company - Euroway Tile

Thank you very much, I appreciate the help

Kevin -

-A decent amount of my favorite pics are on my facebook, let me know if you want to see more. I tend to post my best stuff on there though

- I would have to say that I am best at quality work, I am an absolute perfectionist and have a high attention to detail. I really take pride in doing things right, no cutting corners to save a buck.

- I'm assuming you are asking job $ size? If I had a choice I would have to say around $3-6k because any less and you feel you have to rush through it to make good $ and usually the bigger jobs are commercial which are great for paying bills but too basic/boring to do everyday.................Of course I am not saying that I have not done plenty of jobs for a couple hundred bucks up to $40k+ that I partner up with my brother on

- I've done a lot of remodel work so am used to demolition, light framing, some painting, some millwork, etc..... I also have a lot of experience with commercial so am very good with reading prints, layout, working with superintendents, safety rules, etc... Only limitation I can think of is I have no official certifications or training and have never built a mud shower (walls that is, I do plenty of mudset floors)

In case you meant physical territory I Live in Auburn so would love to do more work in the south end but most of my work is in Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and surrounding areas. I am also fine with going out of town occasionally and have been as far as Juneau, Alaska.

- My perfect job/customer would be a 8000sq ft custom home with nothing but heated floors and natural stone everywhere. It would have tons of chair rail and pencil liner and mosaic, and ofcourse would pay what its worth ..........At the end of the day though any job that treats me well and pays me fair is a good job. The goal is to make enough to take care of our families

Thank you both!

A lot has changed since this post. My phone number is still the same but my company has a different name and when customers are googling my number they are finding this post.

It looks like post #5 has his phone number and he has no way of editing that.
