How about a list of reputable vendors for stuff?
Not sure if this is OK to post but I thought it would be great if there was a list of reputable vendors for goods and services. I do a lot of shopping online and am always looking for feedback from people that have used a vendor that I am think of ordering from or when I may not know of a place to get what I am looking for.
What do you guys think? Is this OK by the forum rules?

Alex,
The first problem would be geography. There are great products around that just aren't available in the next state. Some vendors (who shall go un-named) have specific agreements on who can sell what where. But that's the joys of capitalism.
Besides, who reads?

These guys are great for flat panel tv's and projectors. I've bought two plasmas and a front projector from them. Best prices on the net from an authorized dealer:
www.visualapex.com
These guys are the best for camera equipment, which is one of the most scammed products on the net:

Need home products like Grohe fixtures and such... try these guys:

How about audio and video cables. These guys sell quality cables at bargain prices:

Newegg
I can vouch for newegg.com for anything computer related.
Their return/replace policy is excellent, just returned a USB Cam (Microsoft product) that was DOA, I thought it was just me, and Win 7 drivers, but after trying to load it on an XP box, I determined that it just didn't work. They replaced within a week.

another newegg customer.
When it comes to big screen TVs it's hard to beat Costco. Nobody has their warranty - 2 full years. If it breaks you get a new one. Sometimes even more. Last year a co-worker was lamenting the fact that her big screen TV had just died and only two months out of warranty. So I asked, "by any chance did you buy it at Costco?" Turns out she did. So I suggested she call the store, just "for fun."
A couple of weeks went by and I forgot all about the TV, so was caught a little short when my co-worker stopped by my cube with a big smile saying, "Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!!" The confused look (more confused than normal) told her I was clueless. "Remember my broken TV? We got a new one!!"
Turns out she had taken my advice and called Costco, not expecting much. She explained up front that it was a couple months past the warranty, and yes, she did have the receipt. "Bring it in," she was told. Still not expecting much, my friend and hubby packed the TV in the truck and headed to the store. So the clerk at Customer Service looks at the TV and the receipt (yes, they match) and checks the computer. "Well, we don't have that model any longer, would a refund be okay?" Whereupon the clerk proceeded to give my friend a refund - for the full original purchase price!
(do I need to tell you where they bought the new TV? )

In will second the Costco suggestion, if they have something you want then it is the place to buy it. You can even buy it online and return it to the store if need be. I have personally returned items without issue, that any other store would have not accepted because of the amount of time passed.
