bathtub leak at p trap

Installed new jetted tub. Tub installed on second floor above basement. We have access to drain through the basement ceiling. Tub drain in brass to where it fits into plastic pipe with plastic tightening nut. Leak is coming from connection.

Disassemble, buy new washers at Home Creapo (a pack of 2 is about a buck), reassemble taking care to keep the plastic trap in line with the brass tub drain. Tighten hand tight (and an extra quarter turn with channellocks if your hand strength is so-so) Dont crank it down super tight with a wrench, you'll damage the plastic washers or strip the threads on the P-trap.

Thanks. I had already replaced the packaged, hard plastic gasket above with a replacement soft plastic and it worked above. I guess I'll do the same for this lower one.

Thanks again,
