Urgent Need Kerdi Plumber in Houston area

I have a rental property in Houston. There is a leak in the shower (we think), the shower is a kerdi shower with foam pan, etc.

Property management company sent out a plumber and they don't realize that it is a Kerdi shower and said demo the entire shower as there is no shower pan.

I suspect the drain pipe (old galvanized may be leaking) or maybe even the exterior door in the bedroom may be leaking.

I want plumber that know what kerdi is to diagnose the issue.

Hi Darrell,

I'm no longer in the Houston area, and I can't come to look at your shower.

But you can tell for sure whether it's a Kerdi shower by removing the trim plate of the shower valve to see it there is orange Kerdi material behind it. Also, the Kerdi drain is distinctive. It is square, and everything below the grate is plastic.

It's hard to find a 'Kerdi" plumber. The plumbing is usually done by the tile setter.

A good way to isolate the leak (plumbing vs. shower) is to flood test it. Plug the drain and fill it from an alternate water source. Let it sit for a day and check for leaks.
