wire mesh reinforcement in dry pack

I've heard of using wire mesh for reinforcement of dry pack for the pre slope pan, but is anyone using wire mesh reinforcement in the mud bed above the liner?

Welcome, Steve.

The pre-slope under the waterproofing membrane is part of the plumbing, but the tile industry requires that the waterproofing be sloped to drain the same as does the plumbing industry. Over concrete substrates, the deck mud is bonded to the concrete with a slurry of Pure or thinset mortar with no metal lath. Over wood framed subfloor, a cleavage membrane and 2.5lb. expanded metal lath are required.

Welded wire mesh was once required in the final mud bed in a traditional receptor costruction, but was removed from the industry standards for mortar beds of 65 square feet or less some years ago.

My opinion; worth price charged.
