Cleaning & sealing Kitchen ceramic tile grout

ceramic tile was installed about 11 years ago but never sealed. i'd liked to clean the grout joints and then seal them.

What is the best method to do this job?

Thanks so much for your help,

Alan

Welll,if the grout is really bad i would use any commercial tile and bath cleaner which will be acidic.Mix it,let it sit on the tile for a few minutes. Then use a grout brush to brush the joints. The use a wetvac to suck it up,then mop with water and a little ammonia in it.
If it's not so bad you can probably get by with a commercial neutral cleaner and use the same scenario.Hd and Lowes both have them.

An acidic or alkaline cleaner would be ideal. Aqua Mix NanoScrub or StoneTech Restore should do wonders.

I am looking for doing the same thing. I tried Miracle 511 cleaner and it does a good job. I was wondering if the washer pressure cleaner or steam cleaner would be a faster way to clean grout and the tiles at once.

Many Thanks

You're honestly better off scrubbing with a grout brush. You can buy a standup grout brush for $25 at a janitorial supply company. Then rinse and vacuum

Vinegar is acidic, baking soda will neutralize the vinegar, so you would probably use the baking soda to rinse after you clean with vinegar.

I would probably try the vinegar/warm water, or go buy an alkaline cleaner made for stone and tile.
