Vinegar as a daily shower cleaner?
Hi,
We have a porcelain tile shower with epoxy grout and Delta Stainless shower fixtures (Lockwood series). We were wondering if there is an issue spraying it down with vinegar/water solution after use daily. Can vinegar damage the fixtures or the grout? Is there a better way to do it?
The epoxy grout says not to use enzymatic cleaners, what does that mean anyway?

I wouldn't do that, typically a neutral cleaner is all that's needed on a daily basis. The vinegar with it's high acid base will start to ruin everything, fixtures, ceramic finishes, drains and such.Once in awhile if needed use the acidic cleaners to get the soap scum and minerals off.
Enzyme cleaners are some of the citrus based cleaners.

Porcelain with epoxy ... the best cleaner is a squeegee. Seriously.

Here is the Stone and Tile cleaner at a better price:

We are also giving 5% off any order to JB members right now. PM me if you're interested.
As far as stainless fixtures go, they are stainless, I wouldn't clean it with anything but water and a rag.

I agree with Matt. You don't want to use too many chemicals on the epoxy. It will yellow over time anyway, but using a lot of cleaning chems can dramatically speed that yellowing process.

Vinegar is fine
Laticrete epoxy recommends that you use vinegar to clean it, i called them on it when i first used epoxy grout and had a nice haze that would not come off. The vinegar was not strong enough to remove the thin layer of epoxy but it will be fine for everyday cleaning. I ended up having to use sulfamic acid and silicia sand together and scrub with a home made drill scrub brush machine. It is not a dumb question, call the manufacturer of your grout i bet a $1.28 that they have been asked it so many times anybody who answers will know the answer.

Like Crestone Tile said, the best maintenance is to squeegee the water off the walls after EVERY shower. It doesn't have to be completely dry, but just get in the habit and take ONE minute to get the majority of the water off. Then, take a towel and dry off your stainless fixture. Very simple!
IMO vinegar is not a good idea.

I use a daily body scrub that is lavender scented and once a week for sure whether I need it or not.
