Tool for the Job
Attached is a picture of a drill mixer I used for the epoxy grout mini-units.
I went to home depot and got a 2 foot section of round 3/16 iron rod . Bent it around a copper pipe into the shape below. I cut it with bolt cutters and rounded the edges with a grinder. It really saved me some time mixing up the grout.
All the paint mixers I could find at the home improvement stores were too intricate. I have a paddle mixer but cleanup would have sucked. This was super easy to just wipe off with a paper towel after each mixing..
This simple shape will mix the grout with the rounded edge while scraping out the corners of the bucket with the pointed edge. Don't over-think the design, this simple design can't really be improved without welds, etc... I tried rounding the edges at both sides, but then you won't mix all the grout..
I had enough rod to make two of them. If you make it too long, it will bend at the chuck under it's own weight if you spin it too fast. In the end 4 inches at the base and 10 inches long seemed like the sweet spot where I could run the drill full speed to spin off the excess without it self bending out..
