Glass backsplash installation issue

I am trying to determine if this is acceptable or not. I am no tile expert and my gut feeling is this is not installed correctly. It is a 3" x 6" Daltile glass backsplash in a kitchen. It is a new build and laid on drywall. When viewing the tile at angles you can see the thin-set and grout in uneven lines. Some tiles have a bit of thin-set showing while others have all grout. Some tiles even have a pattern effect to the grout and thin-set. I would say over 90% have this issue on the finished product.

Ryan,

Welcome to the forum.

Can you take another picture or two ? one a little further away so we can tell if this is a backsplash or not ? Got a pic of the tile NOT set on the wall ?

Do you know what thinset was used?

Do you know if they flattened the trowel marks before setting the tiles in the thinset ?

HR,

Thank you for your review.

I have attached another picture from a bit further away. It is a dark but you can still see the issues running that the bottom of several of the tiles. For ones you can't see the issue, it is due to the camera being level with the tile. The more angle you look down/left/right, the more you see the issues.

I wasn't their for installation so I can only ask questions at this point.

As for the tile, it is Datile, Color Waves, Knetic Khaki.

I can take more pictures of backsplash and of a sample tile tomorrow if needed.

Resolution:

The installer came back out for a review and determined they used the wrong adhesive. This adhesive caused the pushout of material that would not let the grout to go flush to the adhesive. The white you see between tiles is the adhesive. The plan is to remove all tile and redo the backsplash.
