Americas Cup Boat turns into submarine
The New Zealand boat (next winner) takes a nose dive, this thing is 70 ft long and can really haul arse, check out the chase boat with 4 300hp yammys on it

Last year's winner was a catamaran that just happened to meet the rules, so this year everybody has a catamaran. The race is being held in San Francisco Bay, which is also a first.

Team Oracle is a super team and boat,New Zealand has a hell of a catamaran and a good team, it is going to be a great competition.

I watched the video again. It appears that one front hydrofoil is badly bent before the incident. Not clear to me what was holding the boat up before it started the turn.
