Here on the east end of LI it's 12 with a wind of about 20 mph. The wind chill meter broke.

I think you people who deal with cold weather all the time sometimes don't realize that we here in the tropics and sub-tropics also suffer. Got up this morning it was 33, and when I left for work the sun was up and it had dropped to 31. It was so cold that I actually had to warm up the truck a couple minutes so the heater would come on.

SOOOOO SORRRRY THAT YOU HAD TO ENDURE THE BITTER COLD OF 31!!!!!!!! Actually not. At least you don't have to purchase heaters, cold crank chargers and the like just to start your vehicle when the temp hits the truly bitter cold, just ask Todd! Really just wanted to get my entry to 1000.

Its cold and getting colder!!! Life sucks!!!
On the other hand the crappies are biting
Perhaps i'll go stare down a hole on Monday .I hear the ice is 27" On Red Lake.Hmm i wonder if i'll need that auger extension. At least i wont have to empty the tools out of My truck with that much Ice!!!

Side note.Red lake is about 25 miles across and that is just the upper lake the lower is even larger.A guy was lost on the lake at night and couldnt figure out where he was. So he hit his onstar button. The operator came on and he explained he was lost and could she help him. A few moments went by and she said Sir, I;ll have to get back to you there seems to be a problem with my satelite link.It says you are on a lake. Chuckling the guy told her he was in fact on a lake. She being from Florida had never heard anything about ice fishing and just said Oh My!!!! She then helped the man find his way off the lake.Moral,Never leave home for icefishing without Onstar or at the very least a GPS system

Snow. Wind. Day #10.

In the last week, the furnace broke, the washing machine overflowed, pipes froze, the snowblower won't start and I broke the vacuum. Worst of all, I had to clean 'cause the site was down and I didn't have anything better to do.

Next week, coming right up....

On the bright side, I've never been lost on a lake.

Heck, we're in double digits with the wind staying under 10 mph. Feels like spring.
