laundry detergent and flour.....sounds fun, but that bad thing it it will be bad.
the storm is going to slow down once it hits PA for 2 days.
you cant handle that amount of hard rain in streams, etc.
hopefully you dont lose your electric for a week.
you'll need one of those hobbit homes you build from mud and bottles.

picture in a South Jersey Supermarket....you dont see that often !

Seems like there was an earthquake up in Canada and now Hawaii is getting Tsunamis.

CNN BREAKIBG NEWS: Sirens blaring across parts of Hawaii urged residents to seek higher ground, as a tsunami -- triggered by a sizable 7.7-magnitude earthquake in western Canada -- headed toward them.

Waves between 3 and 7 feet are expected to lash the islands, beginning about 10:28 p.m. local time Saturday (4:28 a.m. Sunday ET), the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

"Basically this tsunami is pointed right at us," said Gerard Fryer, senior geophysicist at the center.

The impact could last for hours.

Waves between 3 and 7 feet? They'll be polishing their surf boards about now.

Kind of what I thought, but those weren't exactly "natural" disasters.

As of this am it appears DC/Baltimore & western suburbs will miss the worst of Sandy's power. Had she headed up the Chesapeake Bay it could have gotten very ugly in Annapolis, DC, B'town.
Still some significant rainfall & power outage potential, but nothing like my neighbors in NJ & NY appear to be facing.

BTW, I also stocked up gas for the gen, filled the tractor, cleaned the gutters, & stock some water

Even the US stock exchanges are closed for the day. Pretty unusual, that.

TIPS....
Don't go lookyloo at the destruction too early. You have the back end of the hurricane to worry about.
