Shucks, Brian, that was a cold wave for Columbia, SC. It was a brutal few days, but now we have several days in the low- to mid-90's here in Clemson.

I just find it funny when we dont get 100 degree days down here in Sunny Hot Florida and other Northern states are hitting 101 to 105.

we have been a steady 88 to 92 here since that Tropical rain left last week.

This might explain why Florida has been cooler than the rest of the South and Midwest;

Dry soils, in part a product of the dry winter, exacerbate the heat. "If the soils were wetter, more energy would be absorbed by the water and the daily high temperatures wouldn't be as warm," Crouch told OurAmazingPlanet. For example, southern Georgia and Florida, drenched by Tropical Storm Debby, haven't been as hot as areas to the north in the last week or so.

We didn't have much of a winter here at all,then the regular rainy season hasn't taken shape.
We are getting what i would call May's weather and haven't developed the east to west noon cloud roll over yet at all.
Very strange.

Yeah I haven't see the late day thunder and lightning storms I like yet. Strange.

Rick, we were the same temps before the tropical storm, don't know what that story is talking about but I don't think they know themselves.

Here in Marylund', Virginnie' and the Distruck' we been havin 103, 104 and 105 plus temps.... and it's dern' hot.

Two nights ago though..... some 90 mph winds come through Southern MD and other points nearby and laid a bunch of 6" limbs on my roof and filled up my balcony.

Did a job on my new 100' seamless gutter it did.

If'n it twern't' so damn hot Id' climb on the roof to see if there was any damage there.

It's hell to gits' old.

Yeah, it's a hunnert degrees over here as well.

And very little precipitation this summer.

Yesterday's 4th of July fireworks set off a number of grass fires in the surrounding cities. Fortunately, no injuries.
