MMike, it's gettin' more and more difficult to defend you when new peeps be sayin' you ain't in full control of your senses, don'tcha know. 
I recall growing up in conditions like that and I don't miss it any more than you'd miss your cast when they take it off.
Havin' yo daddy get you outa bed at two inna morning to shovel snow inna driveway on accounta that's the onliest way you'd be able to shovel it again at 07:00 for him to go to work. 
Or gettin' up onna snow banks onna side of the driveway to shovel off the tops on accounta they was too high for you to toss more snow up there.
Or shovelin' three feet of snow off the roof of the house so's maybe the roof won't be wantin' to git real familiar with the floor and then not havin' to jump down, just kinda stroll off the roof into the yard.
Nope, don't really miss that much at all.

Today's and yesterday's weather are the reasons I moved to FL. For me, who could ask for more?

Kate I have been working up in North Jersey near NYC and it has been freezing up here.
it was 19 one days and high of 24 for 2 days.
its only been in the high 30's since I've been up here.
this is making me miss Florida even so much more now.

Pineapple Express - we're gettin' hosed in So Cal, 16" of rain since Thursday morning where I live, and still more to come. Weather service is predicting up to 8-10" more... anyone have an Ark I can borrow?

Used to live in Minnesota, now in Seattle. I almost became one of those people who proudly brave the cold, strip down to shorts and go shirtless on the first 50 degree day, skate to and from my car, fiddle with frozen car keys and wipers. Yes, I was almost Winter Wonderland proud, but then I thawed out one summer and tried the west coast. Like the weather, not the politics tho.
I can firmly say that had I stayed a few more years in MN (and WI), I would have likely succombed too. But warmer heads prevailed.
Whole lot nicer to cut in a garage in winter at 45 degrees instead of bucketwarmers and slush. Glad to wise warm-up.

We are in a donut hole of warmth here. Got up to 49 today. Problem is all the snow melted, and our jobsite is a freaking mud mess. My helper's jeans were brown and his feet were soaked just walking to open the trailer this morning. I climbed out of the truck on my running boards then walked along the bed to the bumber, and jumped to tarp we have set out.
At the end of the day he was picking up the hose and stuff, and I told him
"Man I feel bad for you having to put all this stuff away in the mud swamp, but not quite bad enough to help"
