it's absolutely perfect down here now.
was 80 today, no humidity and it's 68 as we speak at 10:40 p.m.

was out walking the dog in my shorts and it beat the hot muggy
nights and surely beats the cold ones.

I have seen stuff on the news already about Blizzards there I think.

I always look at Grand Forks , ND to see how cold it gets through the winter.
that has to be the coldest place in the US.

I've seen a few flurries fly already, but the next 24 hours promises to bring the first real snow of the season here in SW Michigan. Might get a dusting, might get a foot - you never know with lake effect snow.

We've had a couple cool nights . . . mid-thirties. The days, though, are in the high sixties. Perfect Thanksgiving weather if it holds out. It'll probably warm up, though.

What are "flurries," and what do they have to do with weather?

They are little flakes of frozen water, sparsely spaced, whose mere presence causes Texas drivers to slide off the road and into the ditch.

Ahem. Texas drivers don't need anything to cause them to slide off the road and into the ditch. We do it just for fun.

Well, I managed to dodge the first "lake effect" bullet of the year - less than an inch on the ground.

But, just south and west of me, there was enough snow to shut down the Interstate. Lake Effect Roulette is one of this area's charms.

BRRrrrrr! It's 32 right now in Clemson and the forecast is for a low of 25 tonight. Not a cloud in the sky and the stars are something else.
