Probably a little too far north to make the detour. Maybe another time.

Poured like crazy all day. Let up a little after lunch, just long enough to load my truck. I really miss the drought.

We have just been promised 10 days of rain. Now you know why i left the UK 30 years ago. In the interim it appears that NOAH has been granted permanent residence and is living under an assumed name. GOD has almost located him. A standard UK summer it seems.

Agreed Steve, gas prices are already rising here. As usual, fast to go up, slow to come down.

Sunny here today. I can finally dry out the trunk of my car. It's looking as though we might start getting showers from the outer bands of Gustav this evening. shouldn't be much for now though. As bad as these storms are, when you are living in a drought stricken area, you are happy to have them.

Hey Jeremy, a friend from Dorset once told me..."You know what we English do when the sun comes out? We pop outside and throw rocks at it."

Good luck Laz and a safe trip.

Cloud cover already in here pretty heavy this morning and continuing to build but no signs of precip yet. Probably tonight.

this storm is WIDE but the hard wind will be on the right side of the storm with the counter clockwise rotation.

I dont think too much will be happening into Texas, maybe some good rain.

I am over in Medeira Beach by St. Pete Beach and it's overcast, pretty windy but NO RAIN. woohoo.

we are at a Motel having a pool party.
the waves are 4 to 5 footers which is big for the west coast of Florida. all the surfers are out.

so much for a sunny weekend. but glad Gustav didn't skim us closer.
