I know what you mean about mowing the dust!

Last weekend, we drove from Winston to Raleigh to spend the day wiith friends. They had some good storms move through there, but here in Winston, it hasn't rained in a couple of weeks. Starting to look like last summers drought. The grass has pretty much stopped growing.

We are forcarst for 40-60% chances of rain over through Sunday. I would love the rain but DH needs to work on my car which means I'm on my scoot. Scoot no fun in rain. Catch 22, huh?

Neesie, I'd ride your scooter in the rain if it would guarantee that we would get some!

Yeah, but you gotta guarantee the rain, not too much and not too little, no twisters, etc.

I was warned that it was coming, but I'm still stunned by the magnificence of the weather here today. Short of it snowing flakes of gold and silver, I don't know how it could be better.

If I remember correctly, the average start date of the monsoon in Phoenix is July 7th. I'm guessing Tucson starts earlier.

We are on track to break last year's record of days over 110. But it was a cool 105 today...what a relief.

We spent the last three nights at the mountain cabin and had 90 degree days but windows open with 55 at night. Shaka still hung out in her kiddie pool during the day. Guess I would too with a black fur coat.

Mid-seventies. Lots of clouds, but little rain. Very nice weather, actually.

When I lived in Phoenix years ago I never heard any talk of monsoons, and I really don't know what that means. Oh wait, do you mean the annual rain day when the dry rivers overfill and wash out the bridges?

Marge,

One year back in the late seventies or very early eighties Phoenix had more than 100 consecutive days when temps never dropped below 100, not even at night. I remember having 118 a day or two, and 112-114 was commonplace. Temps in the Valley of the Sun are actually decreasing, I think.
