Must not be any blue laws 'round your parts, CX. If you lived in Indiana, you couldn't buy beer or buy a car from a dealer today.

And just to keep things on topic, the weather here in Southwest Michigan is spectacular - has been for days now. Sunny, mid 70s, with a cool lake breeze. Upper 50s at night.

It has been very pleasant in Anchorage this past week. That changed last night. Rainy today with the temp around 60. It's a Seattle type rain, though. You don't really get wet unless you fall in a puddle.

Spent the last four days in San Antonio....rained over 4 inches on the northwest side (from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening)...not too far from ol' cx up in Boerne. Changed one flat tire on best friend's SUV (in the pouring rain)...found out early this morning that her perfectly good spare (brand new) decided to go flat too (methinks thanks to a foreign object that doesn't like tires).

It rained from Waco north to Hillsboro before letting up (that one lane of traffic going northbound made for a great trip back to Dallas).

Cheers.

Dan,
For the most part, we Texans can buy alcohol after noon (1200) on Sundays. We still have blue laws here. Ex father-in-law was a car dealer...could sell cars on Sat or Sun, just not both.

Cheers.

South Carolina - liquor only available from a red dot store, which closes at sunset and only Mon-Sat. Beer and wine available at most grocery stores, but not on Sun. Red dot stores can sell beer and wine, but it must be in a separate room with separate cash registers.

No alcohol available at restaurants on Sun, UNLESS they are in areas that receive in excess of some amount of "tourist taxes" and then they can get a special license to sell alcohol on Sun. Unless the local community doesn't allow it.

SC Weather - Looks like we will have a good week. Highs in the mid-80's, lows in the mid to upper 60's, AND 40% chance of rain for most of the week. We need the rain here.

NY- Beer is sold 7 days a week. You can purchase it in supermarkets, Delis, Beverage Centers, Gas Stations, and consume it in restaurants, etc. Liquor is purchased in liquor stores which now are open on Sunday. Alcohol can not be purchased on Sunday before noon.

Now to the weather. We had some torrential rain earlier today ( nothing like the amount of rain in Kelly's area) and the temperatue is ranging between 68 - 72. Despite the rain very it's comfortable.

We're having a HEAT WAVE. It hit 90 yesterday and the humidity was high. Today it will probably hit 90 again. Yes, the dogs days of summer are here -hot, humid and hazy.

It has rained daily at the cabin for two weeks (a good thing). But the humidity is amazing for Arizona. I don't know how some of you folks handle that all the time. ugh!

Disgusting, isn't it? When it's really bad, you change your clothes a lot. It's not great for ones arthritis either. I'd love to move to a drier climate, but it's so hard to pull up roots. Too much family to move away from.
