Looks like the same guy I found a couple pages back with the baseboard in the tub found his way out in your area Paul - the quarter round is what gave him away

Homeowner: "why is my shower leaking, walls are wet and tile loose and moldy ?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9BLKlZazPI
tile inside shower was loose and grout had mold on it

glass guy drilled holes for channel track and water got in there.

water also leaked from crack in grout at bullnose edge

you can also see no pan liner was used

bottom row of 6" tile was held on by 2" with mastic

we demo'd it today and already installed the Kerdi drain and new mud bed

More hall of shame pics
This shower was done in Stow Ohio.. Supposed to of been a seasoned tile setter, so the builder says. I asked the homeowner how he waterproofed it, said he didnt know.. Called me later and said the builder told him the tile setter didnt use a liner, he did it the old school way.. ??? This is a curbless handicap shower.. I suggested they do a flood test , H/O plugged the drain and flooded it right to the entrance of the shower and he said it didnt leak. So who knows.. Gotta love those wrapped corners

Slab on grade? Well, a thousand years ago they didn't use liners, so I guess it was done the old fashioned way.
A "seasoned " setter. In other words a controlled state of decay.

That's just how he likes his corners
I believe in another discussion on the board someone said "And just where would we find that particular law written", when discussing wrapping. I've concluded from that thread that the consensus is that are no rules in this industry when we are talking layout. Or is there?
