Actually, they should have changed the receptacle to match everything else. The white tile and plate just makes the receptacle look "dirty".
But it's ugly enough no matter what.

I don’t think it would be so bad if a light colored grout was used to blend in. Then again probably not. This thread is always interesting

well that's a given, maybe the HO didn't want to pay the up charge or the tile guy didn't offer cause he didn't know how to do it and let's be honest with that lovely work around do you really want that guy playing with your wires

I just noticed that the screws are missing from that plate. So the installer was totally justified in using grout or caulk to hold the plate in place, right?

There’s a bit of sheen around the plate, so I’m assuming it’s caulk…but just being sloppy or careless couldn’t possibly produce such a jagged messy joint. It looks like someone had to work hard to make it look like that. By logical extension of this logic, I think it’s safe to say that someone took their time on this…right?
