I understood it as a joke.

Kinda of like all stone tiles are flat.

See pic #1- Blue Limestone from United Tile, flat at edges but 1/8" dip in the middle of the tile.

Pics 2-3 - "rectified" porcelain 16" x 32" - sad part is that this was $9.00 a sqft tile not Home Depot Tile-

Most were square but an entire box was like this.

1/4" out in 16"

wrapped up his this 175 sf kitchen early this week.
http://www.tileshop.com/floortile/ki...lles/1696.aspx

Had to demo 3 layers of linoleum, plus stapled & glued luan. Huge PITA. Then installed, 1/2 T&G, 1/4" Denshield (thinsetted underneath before you ask), and then tile.

*Photo 5 expansion joint. I had 2 hours of layout figuring to get fulls everywhere possible and the exp. joint in the doorway leading into the entryway mudroom.
I felt like I was spinning my wheels for a while but I think it was worth it, and the HO's loved it.
Set with laticrete 253R and grouted with I believe Permacolor Latte.

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.

Justin, looks awesome! One question, is the blue tape just keep you on your pattern?

Casey-

No, it's "dummy tape", just to remind the homeowner (and myself) what is still fresh and where to step/not step..

nice work guys. Here is a wood and travertine job. I snapped a few lines for the hardwood guy and made him 3 templates. I used ditra in the squares and grouted the entire inset with quartz lock milk chocolate grout. this floor has been in for about 6 weeks now and with cabinets, granite countertops and all other work in the house the quartz lock has no cracks against the wood.

same house I haven't set any tile from Japan for a long time. This was taking me back to 1990 picking this stuff up from the Tile Shop in Berkeley California. The netting on the backs of the tiles is made from the same stuff used to catch dolphins.

Nice work Rod, not liking those cheesy soap dishes in such nice showers though.

It's been awhile since I've done those soaps and shelves. They don't look good in the thats for sure but they didn't want to pay the $200 for an inset. I also liked the layout the designer came up with on the 3x6 subway. What sucked was the 9 pieces of Oceanside glass did not fit so I had to cut a big saw blade off 2 sides of each piece.
