I like to make my niches out of solid pieces when I can. Less grout joints, less to clean, and faster. Sometimes I will carry the joints through, but only if there is a design element.

Crap, I just realized that the piece in the upper left hand corner is turned the wrong way.
Man that is some different lookn tile. Looks like the computer printouts of the old dot matrix printers we used back in the early 90's. Can I get a closeup a one a those tiles? Don't know which one you were referring to being the wrong way, I think only you woulda known it

Top left corner of the second picture. The dots on the tile are horizontal instead of vertical. Looks like both corner pieces to me.

I am with Jack on the niche thing. Ocasionally I will carry grout joints through, most of the time I do something completely different in the niche though, and sometimes a solid back looks clean there.

Very nice work though Mark, have to agree with the others though that is a funky lookin tile.

Still working in this house. Building another bathroom now. Glass co. showed up today and put one side of the glass up. Here is a teaser pic. The right side had twice the amount of chiseling so they sent it back. It didn't match. They went ahead and put the left side in.

That's some cool glass Jack. As far as my niche design, when you guys want to sign the checks, I will do it however you want.

I got to work today and realized that a piece of tile in one niche was turned the wrong direction also. Popped them out and rapid set...done. Turns out I'm not perfect.

Pretty neat, Mark.

Got a closeup of the curb/wall/base transition. Looks like a lot going on there.

Wall tile reminds me of one of my favorite movies. The Matrix. Cool look. I wouldn't put it in my house but there is a place and time for everything.

Mark, nice work. I like the combination of the floor tiles & shower tiles. I would like to sign your checks, you are too far away though...lol I think lot a variables go into tile, how much time you have to do the work etc. Like you have mentioned and I have too already, customer pays the bill. Contrary to belief all people do not want symmetry.

I think many people from the forum are afraid to put they're work here, cause they know many will just look for one thing outta place or not like "they would do it." I am always open for criticism from others in the biz. I had no teacher to learn from so I learn here. Being on here is my apprenticeship.

Jon we finally have something in common. I'm pretty much self taught too. I didn't come up through commercial or track work. That's why I am slow

Mark did you use the TLS on that ? Would have been a good job for it from the looks of it.

I had about 7 years of training, with 20 years behind me now. But posting pics of your work does take thick skin. There is always someone who will do their best to pick you apart. The ones that like to point and laugh. I always just figure its only because thats all the game they have ...lol. Keep em comin Jon. We love pics.
