No pink wedges they are red - bright red!
Ditra set - I have gotten so fond of it I use it often.

I tore out this shower yesterday. It had this plastic grid on the walls that was filled with mud and a neat OSB preslope.

That wall grid looks like the plastic flats they grow seedlings in.
OSB preslope- did it work?

I see backing for a pan, was there one? The plastic looks like several products I've enountered from preformed curbs to presloped pitch guides. Where is the craftsmanship and what happens when you lose the ability to deal with custom designs lol?

that's the Old Laticrete Pro-Float from the early 90's.
don't think it was supposed to be used on walls, just floors. that's very odd.

Interesting.
There was a pan but it had been leaking slowly for 5 years.
The grid stuff sure was easy to demo though. Came right off in 16" squares.

That's what it looks like to me, as I remember they had 1/2" and 1/4" thicknesses.

In the last 5 days I have tiled a tub surround to the ceiling with a niche, a 200 ft shower with a L shaped monument bench, niche and ceiling and another 80 ft shower with a couple small pony walls. Both showers are walk in with glass and travertine mosaic shower floors. The smaller stand up shower does not have the deco nor the niche. Tiled 2 small bath floors today with rectified 20's. I will try to get some more pics as we get things grouted up. Managed to remember to snap one pic the other day as my battery was going dead. This job was prepped by the GC. He and his crew did all of the framing and hung hardi and painted it with Laticrete Hydro Barrier. They did a pretty darn good job too. I wasn't sure if I could make money breaking away from my own system, but have been pleasantly suprised.

Nice work Jack
A lot of my work is prepped and ready to go like that.
When I find a GC that keeps em straight and square I make sure I keep him happy.

That's good news, Jack. Glad to hear the GC does work to meet your expectations. That's why I like mine, but it does remove an excuse from my list of things to whine about.
I am surprised they want to be responsible for the waterproofing. Are the floors traditional liners?

The last time I did a shower where the G.C. did the prep was comical. "Everything will be ready to and waterproofed no need for these prep charges" When I arrive, the walls are permabased, with no barrier behind or on top of them, 1" gaps in the corners, and at the floor, which has thinset crudely sloped from .5" to 0 at the drain which is a 3pc, in a large hole in the floor with some type of gypsum carpet patch to fill it in. My helper and I walked into the bathroom and immediatly started to laugh our tails off.
"HEY SCOTT(G.C) the prep charges are going to be a bit more than I origionally quoted"
