I don't think the brackets would react to themselves. I'm no metallurgist but so long as there are no dissimliar metals touching it shouldn't be a problem. I used regular lumber (not PT) and the brackets and SPAX screws were all zinc plated steel. zinc will only be touching more zinc.
I've never actually felt kerdi-board but am I wrong in assuming it wont hold screws from pulling out? Even if you used just as much steel I still dont see how it could be attached to the kerdi-board securely. Also - youd still have to use all of the Kerdi band and Kereck corners where it intersects the wall, and maybe even wrap the front edge - so it seems like you wouldnt even save much time.

hi Kyle,
Screws won't find purchase in KERDI-board but washered fasteners will hold it in place. I posed using urethane to laminate the two sheets together and bond the whole thing to the steel frame. No need for anchoring hardware if done that way. As for the intersection between the wall and bench, no need for Kereck corners there. Kerdi the wall with tight holes at the brace penetrations and then seal the KERDI-board bench assembly to the Kerdi'd wall, making sure to ooze the urethane out to ensure a complete seal. If you want overkill, you can band the top joint and wrap it down both sides with Kereck corners, but that won't contribute to time at all.

Gueuzeman sometimes I wish that those ropes would come in both directions. So you can turn 90's and keep the flow of the rope going.
Would only work for all the same corners though ,, all right hand or all left hand.

It looks like 6x8 or 7x8 porcelain to me. Unless you have a custom rack built for that tile, I guess you just have to stick to the grid.

Carl,
Check the pitch on your monitor. Them's looking like 8"x8"s to me.
Gueuze, I'm glad you were able to hire some decent help. Those cuts look pretty good.

that's probably an Metro 105 Buckskin or American Olean Quarry 8 x 8 Shadow Gray.
I can tell from the 4th pictures tile in his left hand, has the quarry backing.
surprised it isn't an abrasive.
I had racks made for A-O, Dal and Metro quarry back when I did bigger commercial.
6x6 & 8x8

Oh they knew, and i bet Henry brought them sandwiches.
Yup, I stopped by the Jobsite and chatted and then ran out and picked up sandwiches / subs for all 4 of us ...
Then I enjoyed a Jobsite lunch and chat with them......
Bill is a long time friend and I enjoyed visiting his Jobsite and chatting with him. And with Adam and Mike.
Somewhere around here I have a photo of myself around 8 years old with my brother mixing up a bucket of Laticrete 4237 latex thin set when my dad took us to do a demo for Bill's grandfather ....!

they didn't have they're proper shirts on
Actually, Bill did have a Laticrete shirt on ...! It is just hard to see the Laticrete logo in the photo.
I'm thinking that I didn't send Adam enough Laticrete shirts to keep him properly dressed.
And Mike I hadn't met before...!
So ... I will be addressing my mistake by sending Adam and Mike a couple of Laticrete shirts.
And some more to Bill too ...!
