Jason-Really bad flairs on the corners. Some were not even square.
I use WD-40 to spray on the racks so the thinset dont stick. We had 2-32count racks going at once with 2 guys per rack. Did almost 1500sq ft with cuts and base in 10 hrs. Helper almost quit on us.

I have to use Metro, due to my current repair contract, its what was used before. Regardless, I hate all quarry tile.

I just finished up this bathroom. I'm happy to be laying some floors today on a new job. Staring at that glass for days on end was messing with my sanity.

Great work guys! The h/0 was dragging his feet, but got the bathroom finished anyway.Might have convinced them into doing their backsplash as well.
Mark, the back wall must've been a welcome change.

Ok i forgot how to do the quote thing correctly, but it is late, even in Hawaii.
That so true. I like doing tedious creative things, but sometimes it it nice to just do some work where you can actually mix a full bag of thinset and just set some tile.
These are some jobs been working on. Last week did this lanai at a older resort complex. The resort specs the tile. Its a ceramic floor tile but no freeze thaw here.
Ripped up old exterior glue down carpeting scraped the glue and wet grinded floor for texture. Then Hydroban, 4 XLT, and Permacolor. Did it on a 45 with a border.
One bit of advice, if you are wet grinding concrete cover the landscaping. I didn't cover the small bushes in front and did not clean the old concrete residue off the leaves until the following morning. Even though the concrete is probably 30 years old the combination of the lime residue and the afternoon sun burnt all the leaves that got residue on them. The landscape guys want to replace all the plants. I offered to do it myself (hate trashing out others work) but they were real nice about it, after I apologized for my ignorance.
The 3rd picture is a small shower wall job for a landlord. There is a fiberglass pan and the walls were just the the thin plastic glued to drywall. He said he would provide all the materials. He showed up with tile, hardie, mastic, and premixed grout from HD. I provided thinset and had him return the premix and get sanded grout.
Last 2 pictures is a tub surround redo from this week. Original is that brown mosaic. Over green board with mastic, over steel studs. The old drywall is dated from 1975, and it gets pretty heavy use. A vacation rental that is part of complex that is run as a resort by Aston. Surprisingly the only mold and rust was on the plumbing wall. Replaced with durock, hydroban, 4xlt and 13.5" rectified porcelain from Ilva.
While I love 4xlt I still use spacers for walls. Non sag but not Non-Move- Like to lock em in place.
Will set the cut rows with fast set tomorrow and grout with permacolor.

Isaac, the only thing you did wrong was put a "+" sign after the word "quote" instead of an "=" sign. I fixed it for you.

Heres one we finished on Wednesday, i posted some other photos of it last week, we demod the shower and bath floor and front and splash of the deck , everything except the top of deck (homeowner did not want to damage tub that stayed in place).
Waterproofed with Hydroban and everything installed with Laticretes 4xlt which is now my one stop thinset.
Iknow i need to upgrade to Ebbe drains or something similar.

Looking good!
Also same to Mark, Musky Mike, and Michael.
Musky Mike- that one row of mosaic liner above the bottom cut row looks nice. Must have been fun to install.
