Jon-It's Wedi in the shower, Hydroban in the niche.
Rick-3.4 lath and those mushrooming anchors.
Had to square the wood up anyway so I took about an 1/8th off each side with the supercut so it fit perfectly.
The tapered 3x6 glass, set vertically, is the first course on the tub. Then the little mosaic running bond everywhere else. I think I have the niche in the right spot so there is no cutting on the face but we'll see. Had to use the 3x6 vertically for the first course, you can see the taper. Tub is out 1 9/16" in five feet! We thought it would look terrible with 1" tall mosaics trying to taper them.
The plan in the niche is to use some oversize stainless steel Schluter metal on the sides as supports for tempered glass shelves. They'll be siliconed in but will be able to rest on the 1/8" or so that hangs in.
Any problem with that? The glass has opaque backing...

Matt,
This is the 2nd time I have seen you use 3.4 lath. What do you like about it vs 2.5? Its stiffer correct?

Nice work tamara and matt. Here are just a couple of pics of my week at a glance. Nothing fancy but hey work is work.
There were a few more simple bathrooms floors in there but they weren't deemed worthy of picture taking.
That herringbone splash is similar to one I posted a while back, as it is the 8th one I've done in that complex. I should be getting faster at them but I'm not!

Matt, the niche, I knows it Hyrdroban... I meant the material....prefab?
Also since there is a news flash on kerdi-board, what is wedi board. Never used it, what is it's composition?
here is finished pic of multicolored slate by Florida Tile, third project for these homeowners. Powder room floor, with Laticrete Heating mats, gonna go back to feel the heat...

Tammy, looks great, nice bullnose and details. Nice to have you back.
Jason, good wrap on the corners, and any work is good

Will have this one completed later today. Nothing too fancy in this one, but it is a HUGE improvement over their old shower. They made a wise investment going with a Schluter shower, being on the second story and their prior leaking problems.

Yes, we used spacers on the floor of this bathroom. And proud of it! Schluter Rondec trim were used as end caps. Glass doors and walls will be installed next week.

Neal, the only problem I see is the lack of protection in the tub, and you've got tile setting in there. WTF?!?

Good stuff, improvement is the name a the game. No more leaks now. doggonit you got stuff up on the tub again, your gonna get everyone's eyes on those scissors instead a your work for those who get easily distracted from the tile part

Just curious about why the layout changed to the bigger tiles for the tub splash. Did the HO's not want it to continue through.

HO wanted the larger tile over the tub (No horizontal joint). The scissors are plastic. The tub is fiberglass. If it was cast iron, we would have protected it. We have done some fiberglass tub and shower refinishing in the past, so any tiny scratches are buffed out on final clean-up. The tub will look better when we leave than before.
