Ya know, every once in a while, y'all get to talkin about New Haven and southern Connecticut, and I start gettin homesick. And then I start thinking about the Hill section, and the Boulevard where our shop used to be right by the corner of the Post Road (it's a farmers market now, but you can still see "Architectural Tiling and Terrazzo" on the side of it along with a couple of mosaic murals), and it passes. QUICK.

Michael-- most of the guys who trained me are from Hamden-- Benny Ciarleglio, Emilio Montenaro (his son Aldo's still in the trade-- lives up in Middletown-- partners with Frank Nero's son in law Al), Pelligrino Sorentino (Last I knew, his son Joey was still in the trade, too), and Luciano Demico-- These are the guys who taught me to set tile!

Oh yeah-- one other guy who came up in the trade the same time as I did working for my father-- Attilio LaVecchia.

Rick, do you get your pre-fab shelves at Mohawk? I never took a look at em all but they seem to have a pretty good selection.

Here's a floor I did yesterday, quick and easy...nothing special either

Ahh I'm so glad to see that you chalk lines too! Does Billy know you at Mohawk by name?

Mohawks shelves are all fabricated from stone they have, Botticino, Carrera, White Thassos, Black Absolute, Durango and Chocalate Travertine.
