So was the CBU just thin-setted up then to maintain the waterproofing ?

I'd like to see that rock after a year of use. That's the kind of shower I would build for myself. But just curious about soap and water on that rock.

I think it will do pretty well. The quartzite is a pretty smooth surface. Those finger joint slate might be a bit harder to clean. I sealed the snot out of it when it was done..

Started a small master bath yesterday, gutted the shower and bath floor, installed the drywall ,new mixing valve. Today we went in and boarded the floor , installed the kerdi and tiled the bath floor. The tile is Liberty Gold polished porcelain,12x12 on both floors and walls and there will be a 4x4 on the shower floor.

Did my first barrier-free shower.

Disabled veteran is losing the use of his legs and can no longer step over the threshold in the existing shower.

Don't make fun of the old folks decor. Or tile selection for that matter.

Huge thanks to Steve Laeger of Schluter for donating the materials.
