You can make it look right if you soften the model -
there is a drop down for it but after you do that you can't modify anything else in the model -or maybe I am doing something wrong - still learning

bag a TAVY spacers
L.T.
You doing the whole house there? I can't help but notice that bag of spacers you put in the pic of Armen Tavy, hope he gets to see that! What kind of thinset do you use on slab, nice work! BTW, I use the TAVY spacers a lot!

Re 2115.
Tim.
Did you spec out the new framing and then do the doubling of the joists and extra subfloor framing?
This is what I keep going on about.
All these failures - all the time.
Look all that work you did. Skilled work. "Mad Skills".
A trained ape can cut sheathing and lay it down, no offense to any apes or framers out there. But I still think it falls on the GC to spec the upgrades and if one is not involve the tile setter should make all these failures public and up sell the floor package.
Nice work men.

John, yep I spec the whole install - I let the client know that is the ONLY way I will warranty it. From the joists up. For this one I enlisted the help of Engineer Bob right here on the forum- here is the thread: http://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin/...ad.php?t=76835
90% of my work is remods so I don't deal with GC's much at all.
I guess I take on the responsibility of making it right before I start a tile install - if the HO doesn't agree with me on deflection and so fourth I walk and give them my business card and tell them to call when the floor fails.
LT, nice work - man those ink lines are crisp and clean! but way messy -do you clean up with some denatured alcohol ?
Keep up the quality work guys! and gals

gridding
L.T.
Yes when your doing a project like of that nature gridding is the way to go, takes time to lay it all out but as we have stated before your layout is more important than just starting to put tiles down. I am a firm believer in gridding projects out.
How do you get the NTCA emblem at the bottom, I have been a member for years but no idea how to attach that, thanks!
