No, he hangs out for free. Kind of a calling card for me with the local inspectors. They get a kick out of it. He's usually on my dashboard

Nice. I had one of those demos a while back. I was replacing a two week old job.

Thanks Jerry & Chuck. I appreciate the kind words. I wish I knew how to post pics that weren't sideways, they're not on my phone that way

So let me see if I've learned anything from all of my reading here. The mistakes I see are they didn't back-butter the tile, they troweled in different directions and they didn't collapse the ridges. Grade my work!

Pretty much. Tile had very little cupping and a flat back so back buttering would be sort of optional if you were still able to get adequate transfer with out it. I'd still do it, habit I guess.
The funny (sad) thing on this is that it appeared they had attempted a mud set, but using thin set. There were no grout joints whatsoever so I'm guessing they used a beat block or just gravity? Walls and "waterproofing" were another fun find.

Me too. I looked at the pics on my phone. I turned the phone and just as quick the phone turned the pic. Smart phone? I don't think so. More like smart ass phone.
