Today we returned to grout and do the plumbing trim out.
Just as we were finishing I hear water gushing and gushing on the first floor. Knowing the HO is in Africa, I panic as I rush down stairs to see what went wrong.
Seems the renter in the garage apartment wanted to treat herself to a bath.
I nearly had a stroke.

dhagin,
I cut each one by hand with a carbide hacksaw blade
I aint that crazy. They came in sheets that were not square. $160 ea plus ship and tx. I ordered 1 extra and had 1 extra. The biggest PITA was marking the cuts. Nowhere to get a mark from and not straight edges to work off. I thought about laying it out and marking and cutting but that scared me too. Thats 16 sheets of tile. Took all day

Round these parts you cannot have a BS outlet within 15 inches of the stovetop

I'm not familiar with that one, either, Dana.
Paul, did he give you a citation from the code book for that?
Why ever would we have a "BS outlet" on this side of the pond, anyway? Looks like a standard duplex receptacle to moi.

Finished a stall shower today. Grouted, put the door back, plumbing trim out, and cleaned.

I took the BS to mean backsplash. Have installed countless outlets next to stove tops, cook tops, etc... Never head that one before.

I'll see my electricians later this week. I'll write myself a note to ask them.

Hell, I thought he was talin' about the British version of such outlets, Dana. Couldn't figger why he'd be doing that, but it is Paul, eh?
Please do that, Paul. I know I've been guilty of violations of that "rule" if it exists. Bet I can go to my most recent remodel of less than a year ago and find you an example.

Shower wall prep, my guy Steve a 3rd generation mud man from LA installing the lathe and scratch coat.
We have to install 4" x 12" tile on a 45 degree herringbone pattern on the walls, we figured having the walls flat and plumb will make our life a little simpler.

Isaac.
I saw only the top photo and thought "wow, Isaac's mudding", then I scrolled down. No, he's got a ringer! Lucky you.

Make sure to post the finish pics. One of the guys I worked with ages ago used to paper first then wire. He said on open 2x's it kept the mud from falling through. Looks like Steve had no problems there!!
