I was also unaware of any such change. How 'bout some of y'all adding your comments to the old Laticrete 4XLT thread here in the Hangout. I think more folks will be very interested to know about this change. Not happy, sounds like, but interested.

Isaac,I will see your awesome looking plank tile on the floor and raise you plank on the wall, ceiling and inside niches....
Very true about the 4xlt, new stuff has very little pot life in the heat.
*someone flip the last 2 pics please. Cant do it with my phone for some reason. Thanks

Thanks guys, I will pass it on to the crew!
Craig- that tub surround is really nice. The woodlook is looking good on the walls and the triple niche is nice too!

Isaac, what are you using for primer for your greenskin? If any. I use TEC multipurpose primer and it hugs forever. Spendy stuff tho.
Btw - really nice work as is your usual. Shouldn't really say usual as "usual" and "extraordinary" typically aren't used in the same reference.

Kevin,
We have been using the Laticrete primer for their NXT self leveling mixed 50/50 with water for primer for Greenskin. It seems to work well.
Not sure how the price compares to the TEC primer.

Did my first mud shower today.it took my way to long apox 6 hrs...I think it turned out pretty good for never mudding with lattice screeds before..not sure I'm gonna go only mud but I think it will have its time and place.

Long Summer
Been a long summer job so I might have some multiple posts. All from the same house.
This first post was how I took a poorly thought out 6 foot by 8 foot closet, moved the door to the closet to the hallway and made a whole new "guest bathroom".
Fixtures are:
Kohler "Mariposa" 6 foot extra sized soaker bath
Villeroy & Boch "Elody" Ped.lav.
Villeroy & Boch "Elody" skirted toilet
Tile is a Chinese "knock-off" of Crossville rectified porcelain "Supreme White"

Here's something funny.
That job is ALMOST 500 sq.ft. of tile counting all the walk-in shower and floor etc.
I'm a miser, never waste a anything.
At the end of the job here's my "scrap" pile.

Amos, first off congrats on your first mud shower looks good. Like everything else this isn't about speed it is about being able to tile onto flat and plumb walls, a tilesetter's dream
Since doing my first back in April I haven't done one since, the opportunity is rare and with this weather better for when it cools off. Itching to do another though. It was a feeling of fulfillment doing one finally
Isaac the pillar of consistency, Evan nice tub surround with the 3 niches. I did one similar but only with 2 you got me, looks great
Christian, that is some pile(or lack of). Nice work, I will ask what everyone asks me when they see all the valves, nice carwash I like the way you encased them in a mosaic framed panel, nice work all around
